Each year, many adults throughout the community make a difference in the lives of our students by volunteering. Whether you have an hour a day, a week or a month, we have students, classrooms and schools that can use your help. Parents, community members and business owners are welcome and encouraged to participate.
How You Can Volunteer:
Volunteering only takes a few simple steps:
The process starts with completing the following link.
After your background check is successful you will be notified via email from SafeVisitor.
Bring your driver's license or military ID, to the front office at the school where you want to volunteer.
A badge will be made for you.
Your NMSD volunteer status is good for 2 years from date of clearance. You will automatically be notified via email when your application is nearing expiration and will need to be removed.
All new volunteers should be familiar with NMSD's Volunteer Handbook. (manual de voluntariado espanol)
Volunteers must also be familiar with the school district’s bullying policy and procedure, including staff roles and responsibilities, how to monitor common areas, and the use of the district’s Incident Reporting Form.
